Champions Celebrity Fill Audley Harrison’s Diary on Spring Trip to Blighty
29th April 2016

Since signing Audley Harrison MBE last year, Champions Celebrity has been busy creating a wide range of opportunities in the UK for the 2000 Olympic Superheavyweight Champion. Based in the United States, his visits to Britain come only a few times every year, so we work hard to fill out his schedule for each trip with a series of high profile engagements that make the very most of his time on this side of the pond.

Audley’s recent UK stopover therefore gave us the chance to create real impact, so we grasped the opportunity and maximised his earning potential in what was just a short window between late March and April.

Arriving at Heathrow from LAX on 21st March, Audley had only 24 hours to get over the jetlag before we whisked him to the National Sports Centre in Douglas on the 23rd to take part in a number of media appearances, a Q&A session and to present awards at the Isle of Man Sports Awards.

Over the following days it was back to London to film a series of television shows for a leading broadcaster, details of which we are not yet free to release. On the 29th March Audley took on a poker professional live ‘for fun’ on the Sky Poker Grudge Match show, before resuming extensive filming for the mystery show.

Audley spoke about the upcoming Joshua-Martin world title fight on BBC Radio 5Live, Radio 4 and Radio 2 on Wednesday 6th April before making his way to the o2 Arena on Saturday 9th for the fight itself, where he joined Johnny Nelson, David Haye and Shannon Briggs to provide fight analysis on behalf of Sky Sports News.

As an alumni of Brunel University, Audley was invited to speak at their Annual Awards Dinner on the evening of Friday 15th April. On Monday 18th April, having made an appearance on Channel 5 talk show The Wright Show, he then attended the Walworth Academy in south east London to deliver an inspirational speech to Year 11 students preparing to sit their GCSEs.

Before flying back home to the States on April 23rd, Audley also made time for a few hours of filming for the BBC’s A Black History of Britain, during which he reflected on his boxing career and his experiences growing up in the capital.

Audley is available in the US until midsummer and will be making a return trip to Britain in June or July, principally to promote and launch his new charity single Never Ever Give Up, a collaboration with the Samaritans.

Everyone at Champions Celebrity was delighted to see Audley once again and we look forward to welcoming him back in the summer.
